BLANCHARD, LA - Dr. Tracey Brown has not only published her conversations with God in “I Found My Father In A Women’s Prison” and her latest release of “The Journey Never Ends”, but now brings highlights of these conversations to stage with “Conversations With God From Jail.”
“Conversations With God” is a one-woman, two-act inspiring story of a woman’s celebration of the power of God to transform any situation into an opportunity to witness for Him and then be able to consider it a blessing, even in prison.
From the thundering clang of the hollow steel jail door slamming to the sound of the lock as it falls in place, the audience in brought into the world of inmate Tracey Brown through the sounds of freedom lost.
“Conversations With God” is comprised of intimate moments with Her Heavenly Father as she discusses her experiences in a southern jail surrounded by prostitutes, drug addicts, and even an occasional murderer. Tracey finds the answers and strength she needs to face each day for herself and others through the insight and poetry that God gives her.
With simple props and a fertile imagination, Tracey Brown draws directly from the pages of her latest books, “I Found My Father In A Women’s Prison” and “The Journey Never Ends,” to bring you into her what was her world in a Southern prison with the production of “Conversations With God From Jail.”
Tracey’s narration and poetry will bring tears to your eyes, a tug to your heart and even laughter as she recounts her rendering on “Beans, Greens and Cornbread,” a large part of the bill of fare at this particular prison. Dr. Brown says “God wants us to find humor in all things. After all, Voltaire said God is comedian playing to an audience that is too afraid to laugh.”
Tracey Brown, Ph.D. lives in Blanchard, Louisiana. She is currently the director for Reach Out In Hope Ministries. Dr. Brown’s poetry has been published in numerous magazines and she has recently been nominated to The International Library of Poetry’s INTERNATIONAL WHO’S WHO IN POETRY.
